No. Shamanic Spirit Medicine never uses psychedelics or plant medicines. The shamanic state of consciousness is fully accessible through drumming and focused awareness alone. This makes the practice safe, repeatable, and available to anyone.

Do I need prior experience to take a shamanism course?

No prior experience is needed. The Fundamentals of Shamanism course is designed for complete beginners. Your natural gifts are already present — the course gives you the tools to access and develop them.

Can I learn shamanism online?

Yes. Every course in the Shamanic Spirit Medicine apprenticeship is available online — in live Zoom sessions or self-paced video format. The same curriculum, the same journeys, and the same personal contact with Scott regardless of format.

What is a shamanic journey?

A shamanic journey is the core practice of shamanism — a structured, intentional shift into non-ordinary consciousness using a repetitive drumbeat. In this state you travel to the spirit world, meet your spirit helpers, and receive healing and guidance directly. It is not guided visualization, hypnosis, or dependent on psychedelics.

How long does the shamanic apprenticeship take?

Most students complete the full 4-level apprenticeship in 9 to 18 months, depending on their pace and other commitments. There is no deadline. Students commit one level at a time with no pressure to continue.
