About Your Teacher
Scott is an International Shamanism Teacher based on Kauai, Hawaii, with students on every continent. A graduate of Duke University and former director of an international trade finance company, Scott left the corporate world to dedicate his career to teaching shamanism as a practical, effective healing system.
Scott's approach is grounded in decades of practice across Shamanic Traditions, Taoist Internal Healing Arts, and Energy Body Cultivation — integrated into a coherent methodology that healers with decades of prior experience consistently describe as the missing piece in their training.
He teaches only what belongs to all people: direct access to spirit, your own innate gifts, and a practice that is safe, repeatable, and yours for life.

What's included in Fundamentals of Shamanism?
Five sessions, twenty hours of direct teaching, fifteen guided shamanic journeys, course notes, class discussion, and live Q&A with Scott. Video recordings are provided to every registered student, so you keep the material for life.
Do I need any prior experience?
No. Level 1 has no prerequisites and is designed for complete beginners. Your natural gifts are already present, and the course gives you the structure to access and develop them.
What format options are there?
Three: self-paced online that you can start anytime, a live online cohort over about five weeks, and the in-person Kauai retreat. Every format includes recordings and personal contact with Scott.
How long does it take to complete?
In person, five days. Live online, about five weeks. Self-paced, roughly two to six weeks at your own pace. There is no deadline, and you move at the rhythm that suits your life.
Are psychedelics or plant medicines used?
No. The shamanic state of consciousness is reached through drumming and focused awareness alone, which makes the practice safe, repeatable, and available to anyone.
Is this part of a larger program?
Yes. Fundamentals of Shamanism is Level 1 of the 4-level Shamanic Apprenticeship, a complete path from your first journey to certified shamanic healer. You commit one level at a time, with no pressure to continue.
